New :: Roshi - Roshi [XBRCD41] [Exogenic Breaks]

Roshi’s eponymous debut album moves through different genres of electronic dance music skillfully blending influences from stoner rock, electro, techno, drum 'n' bass and even dubstep. Roshi builds a multilayered musical experience providing new aural dimensions with each listening.

In the past ten years Roshi´s views and professional knowledge has influenced many productions. His debut solo album represents the most refined form of his vision. As a whole the release is much more than the sum of its parts. The album is an ode to life, a comment on this world, where everyone should rethink their direction and relationship to themselves.

The album features noted guests, among them Finnish rapper Redrama, Jere Garcia (Accu), Jan Rechberger (Amorphis) and Mikko Happo (Hidria Spacefolk).

Behind the name Roshi is the producer Kristo Tuomi (1975-2009). He has done a respectable over ten year long career in musical production and gained a reputation of being a visionary and uncompromising producer. iDJ Magazine selected him as one of "the ones to watch in 2009". He has been involved projects such as Koe, The Jar, Roshi & The Junkmen and Stealth Unit Sound Collective. Besides Exogenic Breaks Records he has released on labels such as Botchit Breaks and Nine2Five Recordings. The album is released posthumously.

Far Too Loud vs. Code Zero – Blackout Original & Remixes

Far Too Loud vs. Code Zero – Blackout Original & Remixes [XBRD10] [FTECH034]

Exogenic Breaks presents in collaboration with Funkatech Records: Far Too Loud vs Code Zero’s track entitled ‘Blackout’, with three bonus remixes by Exogenic artists Headphonics, Kiwa and Muffler & Genki.
This release it’s available for download from the 24th August ’09 on Exogenic Breaks and the vinyl it´s available with the ‘Original’ and Headphonics mixes on Funkatech Records.

The ‘Original’ has been in many a DJ’s bag for a while now and has been causing a stir on dance floors around the world. FTL and Code Zero come with a deep dark breaks roller which is heads down vibes all the way!!!

Headphonics is a collaboration between Make Louhio and Tommi Sirkiä in their search of a perfect mix of electronic and conventional music, taking inspiration from old movie soundtracks, classic 70´s funk, comics, house, breaks, drum ´n bass and hip hop.
Their remix of ‘Blackout’ is a tight production with strong psygressive elements. The remix starts with breakbeats á la Headphonics and ends up uniting the psy-ish dimensions.

Kiwa is a project of two Finnish long time producers Matti Elsinen and Make Louhio. They have their backgrounds in the early Finnish psy-trance scene, but later took slightly different paths concentrating more on electro house, progressive and breakbeat influenced production, maintaining the psychedelic soundscape in their tunes.
The Kiwa reworking of ‘Blackout’ is a slightly slower tempo turn on electro house, which features original progressive elements on the surface of their trademark funky bass lines.

Genki and Muffler are two Helsinki based jungliest wizards and pioneering prophets in the genre in their homeland as well as abroad.
These warriors mix turns ‘Blackout’ into a tech drum and bass roller.
